Review Summary:

Dishwasher-safe stainless steel cookware that is durable, versatile, and aesthetically pleasing. The cookware comes with lids, a steamer insert, and is compatible with all stovetops and the oven! A great bargain for any family.

Introduction

Tired of your cheap cookware that warps with time and non-stick coating that wears out? Are you frustrated with having to replace yet another pan? If you want quality without investing over $600, the Cuisinart Stainless steel Cookware MCP-12 is your solution.
The Cuisinart MCP offers a cheaper alternative than the All-Clad Stainless steel cookware sets without skimping on any of the prized features.

Advantages of the Cuisinart Stainless steel Cookware MultiClad Pro 12-Piece

Value

The value of Cuisinart MultiClad Pro is excellent. For a fraction of the All-Clad price, you can get similar cookware with many of the same, durable features. In the 2000s, All-Clad Stainless patents expired creating a manufacturing frenzy to build similar knockoff products.

Not all of the knockoffs offer the same quality, but when it comes to Cuisinart MultiClad Pro, the company hasn’t cut many corners.

Construction

3-ply construction - cuisinart stainless steel cookwareCuisinart Triply - cuisinart stainless steel cookwareSimilar to the All-Clad sets, the Cuisinart MultiClad features a 3-ply construction.  An aluminum core is sandwiched between a stainless steel interior and a brushed stainless steel exterior. This triple-ply construction offers even heating and heat distribution along the sides and bottom of the cookware.

This set features either 18/8 or 18/10 (SAE 304) stainless steel for its interiors and lids. It is unsure which it is exactly as Cuisinart hasn’t specified. Either way, the Cuisinart MultiClad Pro is rust-resistant and hasn’t shown any corrosion after many dishwasher cycles.

Like the All-Clad sets, the Cusinart MultiClad Pro features 18/0 steel (SAE 430) on the outside to make it induction ready.

The sidewall thickness appears to be the same 2.6mm thickness as All-Clad. Many cheaper knockoffs skimp here with thinner walls, so this is a definite plus for Cuisinart.

Why should you care about thickness? Knockoffs with thinner walls have also used less aluminum in the core, decreasing the effectiveness of heat distribution.

With this set, you can say goodbye to hot spots and uneven cooling. The aluminum in this 3-ply construction ensures that the cookware heats and cools quickly giving you perfect control of the temperature.

Ease of Maintenance

The stainless steel of the Cuisinart MultiClad Pro set is easy to clean and the well polished stainless steel cooking surface doesn’t react with food or change its flavor. The entire set is dishwasher safe making clean up a breeze after cooking.

No longer do you have to worry about any plastic melting or non-stick coating flaking off. This set will last a lifetime, not like those cute non-stick pans you have owned before.

The durability doesn’t affect its aesthetics, though. The collection is both elegant and contemporary with a professional brushed finish. Naturally, sticking is possible with stainless steel pans, but you can drastically minimize this occurrence by preheating the pan and then turning the heat down to low, adding oil, and then adding the food. After some practice, it no longer becomes an issue.

Versatility

Not only does this set offer great value, but it also provides a great collection of cookware that features all the essentials needed to create wonderful homemade meals.

Included in this 12 piece set is:

  • 5-quart saucepan with lid
  • Veggie steamer insert with lid for the larger saucepan
  • 8 inch and 10-inch open skillets
  • 5 quart covered saucepan with helper handles
  • 8-quart stockpot with lid

Before owning a Cuisinart MultiClad Pro cookware set, I couldn’t place any of my cookware into the oven. With this set, I have a much wider range of cooking possibilities as each piece is oven and broiler safe up to 500F. The cookware is also compatible with all stove tops.

The steamer insert is wonderful for steaming vegetables. Before owning this set with the steamer, I couldn’t cook manti (a traditional Russian dish featuring dumplings with spiced meat wrapped in dough) and could only enjoy them at my mom’s. Now I can make them myself.

I also love the tapered rims for drip-free pouring as I often saute vegetables and sauces to add to my soups. The helper handle on the 3.5-quart saucepan is also a great feature for when the contents are too heavy to lift with one hand alone.

Additional Features to Lovepouring - cuisinart stainless steel cookware

  • The lids fit the pots tightly
  • Tapered rims for drip-free pouring

Possible Disadvantages

As noted earlier, the steel of the MultiClad Pro may be an 18/8 vs. the 18/10 featured in the All-Clad series. When it comes down to daily use, however, there seems to be no difference in the durability of the All-Clad vs. the Cuisinart. Both appear to offer the same amount of corrosion resistance.

The rivets are a bit hard to clean, and though they have a stainless steel interior caps, they are aluminum on the outside. After running these pots through the dishwasher, the aluminum rivets become dull. Though this doesn’t affect the pan in any way structurally, some are bothered by this perceived cosmetic flaw.

Conclusion

cuisinart stainless steel cookwareWhen I compared my cheap non-stick pans with the cookware featured in this set, I was instantly sold. The collection features everything I need to create delicious homemade meals every day and offers much more versatility than sets with plastic handles and non-stick coating.

With small children, every minute I can save on cleaning helps, so being able to load these into the dishwasher is a lifesaver at times. I can also use a bit of Barkeepers Friend to clean by hand and don’t have to worry about scrubbing too hard as I did with my previous Teflon pans.

The durability of this set is going to save me money, considering that I have had to replace my pots every 2-4 years before owning this set and is probably a healthier alternative to Teflon.

The MultiClad Pro is also cheaper than the All-Clad and still offers all of the advantages making this an ideal bargain for budget conscious families and those not ready to invest in more expensive sets. If you’re ready for a change in cookware, the Cuisinart Stainless Steel Cookware MultiClad Pro is an excellent way to go and is available on Amazon.com for $214.79*.
