In a perfect world, we would be able to buy one air compressor for car tires that would suit all of the needs of every project we did at the house or on a job site. That’s definitely not the case, even for people who do smaller constructions projects at their home. I fall into the category of people who don’t do a lot of big projects, but I do need some power to get some renovation jobs done occasionally.
I have a larger compressor, but I felt like there was a better fit for my small nailing and framing jobs. After my research, I bought the Senco PC1010 1-Gallon Compressor, and I just couldn’t wait to get online and write a review about it!
Now I want to reiterate that I don’t do a lot of larger projects that would require a lot of air pressure. This compressor only has a 1-gallon capacity, ½ running horsepower and 1-horsepower peak, but it’s exactly what I wanted and needed. If you’re looking for a compressor that will give you maximum pressure and can be used all day without having to cycle much, then this is not the air compressor for you. When used for its intended purpose, I can honestly say there may not be a better compact compressor available.
What Do You Get?
You can get just about any small to medium job that requires pneumatic tools completed with the Senco PC1010 1-Gallon Compressor. I’ve done some small framing projects, and even some floor molding, and haven’t run into any issues with the functionality. Of course, if I try to test its limits, the compressor lets me know that it can’t handle it, which is expected.
The compressor weighs about 20-pounds, so you won’t be straining yourself when you’re packing it around the room. It’s important to note that the maximum air pressure is 125 psi, so you need to make sure you have the proper expectations. Senco portable air compressor also includes a regulator, pressure gauges, an air filter and a ¼” universal coupler with the compressor.
My First Experience
The one thing I really liked about Senco PC1010 air compressor was that it filled up quickly. It reached 120 psi in just a little over two minutes, which I thought was pretty impressive. Other reviewers have said that the compressor can make 20-44 drives per minute. I haven’t approached that range yet with the work that I’ve done, but I can say that it wouldn’t surprise me based on the use that I’ve gotten out of mine.
When I put the Senco PC1010 1-Gallon Compressor to the test on a big project, it confirmed what I read and expected. This is not intended to be an air compressor that you use for everyday big projects, and you definitely shouldn’t expect it to be powerful enough to replace your full size compressor. Again, having the proper expectations and knowing how this compressor is designed to be used will reduce some of your frustrations.
Analysis of the Senco PC1010 1-Gallon Compressor
I’m not a contractor or a professional by any means, but I do have a couple different air compressors that I use for a variety of tasks. The first thing I always do when I get a new air compressor is air up the tires on my vehicles. This one stacked up just as well with the other compressor that I have, which was a good start.
The one thing I noticed as well was the noise level. This is by far the quietest air compressor I own. Of course, it is the smallest one, so that may have a lot to do with it as well. But it’s still nice to be able to have the compressor running for a while without damaging your eardrums.
Comparison to Other Compressors
It’s only fair to compare the Senco PC1010 1-Gallon Compressor to other compressors that have an air capacity of around 1-gallon. When making that comparison, I don’t believe there are many better options out there. I owned a different brand previously, which worked well, but this Senco model seems to be more efficient.
Just for comparison purposes, I stacked up this compressor with another pancake compressor that I own. The results were pretty much what you’d expect. This Senco compressor was quieter, filled up more quickly and was a lot lighter. You might be able to replace your old pancake compressor with this one, but I’d recommend keeping both since there are different benefits associated with each.
Who Should Buy This Air Compressor?
The Senco PC1010 1-Gallon Compressor is designed for people who use pneumatic tools occasionally, and don’t need an air compressor for big jobs. However, professionals and contractors can use this compressor as well, because it is lightweight and easier to pack for the smaller tasks. Basically, the compressor can be used by anyone, as long as it’s being used for the proper jobs.
Why This is the Perfect Compact Air Compressor
At just 20-pounds, this is one of the lightest air compressors that you will ever own. That means you can take it with you anywhere. Stick it in the back of your truck, in your car trunk or even an ATV if you have one. You never know when you are going to need some air pressure, and with this compressor, it won’t be inconvenient to pack it around with you wherever you go.
You’ll have to look for a while to find negative reviews about the Senco PC1010 1-Gallon Compressor. Most of the complaints are because people are using them incorrectly, and I would have to agree with that based on my experience.
When used how it’s designed to be used, there isn’t a better compact compressor that I’ve ever operated before. It’s not going to break the bank since it’s just $115.43*, and you may even use it more than your full size compressor. The value that Senco PC1010 1-Gallon Compressor offers is unmatched with any other compressor, so be sure and get yours as soon as possible. You won’t regret it!
